How to charge coupon cards using Scanner App

Scanner app โ€“ Coupon card

In this article, we will take a look at how a coupon card is scanned via the scanner app.

Scanning a customer card or searching for a customer

  1. Upon successful login, tap the Scan button.

Scan Button
  1. This initiates the scan process by opening the camera of your mobile device. If this is the first time, the scanner app will ask you to allow permission to access your device camera.

  1. You can also click on the search button and enter the customerโ€™s information. You can search customers by Name, Phone number, Email, and Card Serial Number.

Redemption of coupon card

After successful scanning, the coupon card will be displayed in the scanner application.

You see the coupon status "active". This means that the card is valid. Click the "Use coupon" button to redeem it.

A confirmation window will appear. You can specify the cost that the client spent or leave 0, you can add a comment (it will not be visible to the client). Then click the "Use" button and confirm the transaction.

As a result, the Successful Transaction popup is displayed. To proceed further, click Done.

If the coupon is linked to a primary loyalty card, then after it is redeemed, it will automatically convert into the primary loyalty card on the customerโ€™s phone.

โœ… Please note: The scanner always shows the current information on the client card and the information about the client (the one that the client specified when installing the card).

You can find this information on the scanner screen, just below the transaction buttons. It includes client details (such as the information they provided when installing their card), as well as card installation date, date of the last accrual, and more. The exact information displayed may vary depending on the type of card.

โ“FAQ

Why doesnโ€™t the installed card change after coupon redemption?

When a coupon card is set to convert into a stamp card after redemption, the card should automatically update in the customerโ€™s wallet.

However, sometimes Apple Wallet or Google Wallet does not refresh immediately, even though the system has already updated the card (you can see this in the Scanner App).

โœ… How to update the card immediately (Apple Wallet)

If the card is installed in Apple Wallet, you can force it to refresh:

Option 1 โ€” Manual refresh

  1. Open the card in Apple Wallet.

  2. Go to the back side of the card (tap the three dots in the top right corner).

  3. Swipe down on the back side of the card.

  4. You will see a loading indicator โ€” this means the card is updating.

After this, the coupon card should convert into the stamp card.

Option 2 โ€” Toggle automatic updates

  1. Open the back side of the card.

  2. Turn Automatic Updates off.

  3. Turn it on again.

This action also forces the card to refresh and apply the updated card type.

Important

If the Scanner App already shows the stamp card, it means the conversion worked correctly in the system. The issue is only related to the wallet refresh.

If the card still does not update after these steps, please contact support and share a screenshot so we can investigate further.
