📧Setting up Mailgun Account

Setting up your Mailgun account for Boomerangme

In this tutorial, I'll guide you through the process of setting up your Mailgun account for Boomerangme.

1. Login to Mailgun Account

Log in to your new Mailgun account and access the main dashboard.

2. Connect with Your Domain

Navigate to "Mailing Domains."

Click "Add New Domain" and enter your domain name.

Mailgun recommends using a subdomain like mg.yourdomain.com. I'll connect Mailgun with our domain, mg.boomerangme.us.

3. Domain Setup

Choose the region (e.g., US) and select IP assignment (shared IP is fine).

Advanced DKIM settings can be left as default.

Move forward, and your domain is created.

4. Add Domain Records

Add TXT records on your domain registrar's side. I'll use GoDaddy.

Set up TXT records for SPF and DKIM signatures.

5. Receiving Records

Set up MX records for mailgun.org.

6. CNAME Record

Set up a CNAME record for tracking openings, clicks, and unsubscribers.

7. Verification and Activation

Verify SPF, DKIM, and MX records on the Mailgun site.

Wait for records to propagate (a few hours).

8. Mailgun Settings

Open domain settings and enable click tracking, open tracking, and unsubscribe tracking. Switch from HTTP to HTTPS for better email delivery.

10. Receiving Rules

Set up catch-all forwarding to your preferred email address for replies.

11. Mailgun Integration with Boomerangme Dashboard

Access Mailgun API keys and create a new key (test key for connection).

Copy the key and paste it into your Boomerangme account.

The mailbox connection process has been simplified. Now, only the API key is required to connect.

Support for Multiple Mailgun Mailboxes:

It is now possible to connect both a primary mailbox for general mailings (e.g., registration details, password resets, etc.) and additional mailboxes used exclusively for mailings via Richie.

First, select the primary mailbox from the list of available mailboxes and enter the sender name. This mailbox will be used to send:

  • welcome emails after your clients (sub-accounts) register

  • password recovery emails

  • manager registration emails

After selecting the primary mailbox, the user needs to enter the sender name and choose additional mailboxes for mailings via Richie. You can select as many mailboxes as you have configured in your Mailgun account.

After selecting the mailboxes, click "Connect". Connect and you're all set! You're now ready to receive and manage emails seamlessly with Mailgun and Boomerangme

Edit mailgun connection

At any time, you can edit the connection, select new mailboxes, or disconnect old ones. To do this, use the "Edit" button.
